Callum Clack – Guest Teacher
Callum grew up steeped in the world of dance – his mother nurtured Callum’s early years in dance passing on her knowledge and expertise in Freestyle, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Latin American and Ballroom dancing. Callum’s talent became obvious becoming a regular winner in regional /national competitions and achieved success as Champion Freestyle dancer in 2007 ISTD Grand Finals.
Aged 7, Callum decided that performing would be his chosen career. He joined a local stage school, and soon worked in TV dramas, films, adverts, and musical theatre including ‘Whistle down the Wind’ and ‘Joseph’ in London.
Aged 16, Callum received a scholarship to attend Masters Performing Arts. Callum feels very grateful to his teachers who helped shape him and made him ready for the world as a professional dancer.
Straight from graduating Callum landed his first job with choroeographer Paul Domaine working for Qdos Entertainments.
Through working with Qdos Callum has also made a strong working relationship with choreographer Karen Bruce. Callum went on to tour with Dance Til’ Dawn and The Last Tango which also transferred in to the West End starring Strictly’s Vincent & Flavia, Directed and Choreographed by Karen.
Callum also feels incredibly lucky to have performed at the Olympics and Paralympics under direction of Kim Gavin. Performing in such a high profile event was a great experience for Callum, one he’ll never forget.
Callum is currently in Dick Whittington at the London Palladium, his recent ventures include ‘The Bodyguard’ which toured throughout China.
He was very humbled to be nominated for Carl Alan Performers Award in October 2017 and recorded his thanks and appreciation for the breadth of his dancing / performing foundations from his mother and Masters College.
